Print Story: Ryder Stripe
Posted on 23 July 2016
Our distressed stripe was created by designer Nicole Puszynski and is exclusive to the brand.
The creation process began with a bamboo brush saturated with india ink and watercolor paper — onto which Nicole painted thick, imperfect lines. Then, while the ink is still wet, she misted the paper to create a frayed, undone look. Voilà: perfect summer stripes the Suki + Solaine way.
Perennially classic, stripes can be interpreted and worn infinite ways, but always come with a long history steeped in tradition. Nicole's approach to summer was to find a balance between tradition and rebellion, refinement and raw edges.
In her own words, she posits "I don't really like stripes much, myself. I never really wore them. But I started to gravitate toward the idea of doing a stripe, and I knew I had to make it me — not prim and proper."
